Dear Ms Dalal,
I am replying to you on behalf of myself and other moderators of some
RTI groups.

I think you are confusing 2 or 3 issues here. So lets list them

1) Late Prakash Kardaley's name being misused by someone who does not
reveal his name,.
2) Vinita Deshmukh complains of impersonation
3) Shailesh Gandhi being impersonated on mahadikar (from his old vsnl
id)

Concerning this group, ie HJ-GG:

Cyber impersonation is rampant in India. There are no laws to control
it, unless somebody is HARMED, in which case it becomes a criminal
offence either under IPC or IT Act. Has anyone gone after
Fake_IPL_Player ?.

1) Can you cite specific instances where anyone on this google group
has impersonated as late Prakash Kardaley, or misrepresented that he/
she/they are Prakash Kardaley (who as is very well known has passed
away) ? The term "misused" requires some amplification, after all
being an Elvis impersonator is a very honorable profession in other
countries. In fact I also see many posts on this group where "PMK"
repeatedly denies / clarifies that he is
Prakash Kardaley.

2) Same as above for Vinita Deshmukh impersonator. The specifics of
the other "vinita deshmukh" yahoo ID is that it was added to this
group because it is a member of the rti4empowerment yahoogroup. All
"vinita deshmukh" IDs were instantly deleted from this group once
vinitapune@gmail.com complained.

3) The mahadhikar impersonation of Shailesh Gandhi does not concern
this group.

4) Just FYI, and as I have posted here and elsewhere (incl RTI groups
I moderate / own), some moderators of various RTI groups (incl myself)
have decided to share member lists to create alternates / backups at
google in case Yahoogroups decides to shut down as is being rumoured.
Everybody who wanted to unsubscribe / switch to digest mode has been
facilitated without exception at the new google groups as you can
vouch for.

5) Finally, the late PMK was one of my co-moderators (and a frequent
contributor) at RTI_India Yahoogroup under at least 2 aliases. It was
all jolly good entertainment / fun, and Masterji would have enjoyed it
too.
