US trip of UP CM and 12 others cost more than crore

LUCKNOW: An RTI response has revealed that Rs 1.06 crore was spent on
UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav's trip to US in 2013. Akhilesh had
visited US in 2013 long with a 12-member delegation to deliver a talk
at an annual symposium of Harvard University.

Though he cancelled his presentation, a day after minister Azam Khan,
one of the members in the delegation, was stopped for extended
questioning at Boston airport.

Secretariat administration department, UP, in response to Right to
Information query to activist Sanjay Sharma has informed that cost of
travel and stay for 11 members was borne by state government.

Air travel cost more than Rs 52 lakh and stay cost more than Rs 53
lakh. Total amount spent was Rs 1,06,28,338.
